I've been holding a paintbrush since I was seven years old. A lifetime's worth of paint-stained fingers, countless sheets of watercolour paper, and a love affair with the way colour and water play together that has never wavered. Watercolour has always been my language; a language of love, fun, laughter, joy and forgiveness.

There's something about its transparency, its willingness to surprise you, and the freedom it offers that keeps me coming back day after day. You can't force watercolour — it asks you to collaborate, to let go a little, to trust the process. And perhaps that's why it suits me so well. Living and working here at Cottonwood Farm, with the Never Never River nearby and acres of native trees we've planted, it's impossible not to be influenced by nature. My studio sits in the midst of all this quiet beauty, and it keeps me centred. |

The Cottonwood Studio range didn't arrive in a flash of inspiration or a singular moment of clarity. It emerged naturally, gracefully and organically the way things do when you've been doing something you love for long enough, that it becomes inseparable from who you are. These cards are simply an extension of the way I see the world — light, optimistic, sympathetic, celebratory and grounded in the beauty that surrounds me. When I paint, I'm not trying to capture nature exactly as it is — I'm capturing how it makes me feel. |

The softness of morning light. The gentle optimism of new growth. The way a simple bloom can lift your spirits. The way the local birds and wildlife make you laugh with their unfettered love of life. That's what Cottonwood Studio is really about. Cards that carry a lightness of being, painted in a medium that itself embodies transparency and hope. Each brushstroke is an invitation to see the world as I do from this peaceful corner of Northern NSW — with gratitude, with wonder, and with an enduring sense that beauty is always there if we take the time to notice it. |
After decades of painting, I'm still learning from watercolour. Still surprised by what happens when colours meet on paper. Still delighted by the way a few simple strokes can convey something that words sometimes can't. And that's the gift I hope these cards carry into the world.
